The top anime of this year goes to the second season of Gintama's final arc. Gintama is originally a 201 episode series that aired back in 2006. This Studio Sunrise hit is about aliens that have come to Earth to take over Japan in it's feudalism period. This caused Japan to ban swords. The story follows Gintoki Sakata a samurai who lives in this time. If historical anime is your genre, then you are sure to like Gintama.
